When OnLogic needed a new state-of-the-art Champlain Valley manufacturing and business facility to accommodate its rapidly expanding worldwide operations, the industrial computer manufacturer turned to VHB. Tapping into our local knowledge and relationships, VHB helped OnLogic select a site in South Burlington’s Technology Park near the iconic “Whales’ Tails” sculpture, then performed the full array of site/civil services needed to construct the 140,000-square-foot facility on an accelerated schedule. VHB’s team collaborated with OnLogic and the construction contractor to fast-track bid documents in parallel with regulatory approvals, completing planning and design and securing permits within a year. After a two-year construction phase, a ribbon-cutting celebrated the $54 million project’s completion in May 2024.
A testament to OnLogic’s commitment to sustainability, its new global headquarters models the intersection of large-scale site planning and human-scale design. Custom-built with input from OnLogic employees, the facility incorporates a host of leading-edge eco-friendly features such as a 500-kW roof-mounted solar array, a geothermal heating/cooling system, and recycled glass sub-slab insulation. The building’s flexible design fosters collaboration among OnLogic’s some 150 Vermont-based employees and allows for the company’s expected growth over the next decade. Vermont’s governor and other leading politicians have hailed OnLogic’s vital contributions to Vermont’s growing stature as tech hub, which this landmark facility will advance.
