VHB leadership recently attended Engineering News-Record’s annual awards ceremony to accept the award for 2024 New England Design Firm of the Year, an enormous honor.
VHB’s role in major New England development and infrastructure projects that are enhancing communities and creating a more sustainable future, our innovative and alternative delivery solutions, and our award-winning workplace culture contributed to ENR’s selection of VHB as New England Design Firm of the Year.
“Accepting the New England Design Firm of the Year award on behalf of VHB reinforces that our commitment to sustainability and quality resonates with clients and developers in the region,” says Senior Vice President and Regional Manager Meredith Avery. “It’s thanks to the collective effort, dedication, and forward thinking of our team that we receive this recognition.”
In addition to winning New England Design Firm of the Year, VHB was part of the team honored with the New England Excellence in Safety Best Project Award for the Gordon Center for Creative and Performing Arts, which VHB’s Land Development team designed for Colby College in Maine.
A key component of the Colby College Master Plan, the Gordon Center is a new concert hall and theater combined with classroom and studio space that serves as a creative laboratory for students and faculty across disciplines. VHB developed the site elements of the project, including utilities, stormwater management, and access improvements. Our services for the project included site-civil, transportation, and environmental permitting.
The ENR New England Regional Best Projects Awards event was held in Boston at the Hyatt Regency. VHB was joined by fellow consultants, developers, and clients in attendance.
