Brittany Gesner Presents on Worcester Business Journal Economic Forum

Worcester Director of Land Development Brittany Gesner recently presented on the Worcester Business Journal’s Central Massachusetts Economic Forecast and Real Estate Forum. The annual panel discussion focuses on the economic climate of the previous year, current regional and national data, and key economic trends in the future.

This year, the program spotlighted the Central Massachusetts real estate market, with industry leaders sharing insights on the future of the region’s dynamic and growing development market. Brittany presented during the first panel, “State of the Market: Regional Development Updates,” which covered the major development projects, evolving industrial and warehouse market, construction and design trends, project pipelines, and financing.

"It's an honor to participate in this conversation with my fellow panelists,” said Brittany. “The entire forum was insightful and informative on the key factors anticipated to shape the economy and the real estate market in Central Massachusetts in 2025.”

The second panel, “Adaptive Reuse and Housing Innovation,” focused on the adaptive reuse of older buildings for residential conversion, trends in repurposing retail spaces to meet changing consumer and business needs, and an overview of incentive programs aimed at increasing the housing supply. This discussion also touched on the top challenges and obstacles to increased housing development and how to overcome them, emphasizing that housing is essential to fueling growth in Central Massachusetts.
