Michael A. Levine, AICP, has joined VHB as a Senior Environmental Planner in Hauppauge, NY. At VHB, Michael will collaborate closely with the environmental team, contributing to projects for both public and private clients while elevating VHB’s environmental services across Long Island.
Prior to VHB, Michael served 26 years at the Town of North Hempstead. In his role as the Commissioner of Planning and Environmental Protection, he was responsible for formulating and implementing land use and environmental policies for the township with a population of 237,000. Michael has a successful track record leading a diverse team through complex environmental projects. His achievements include composing the Town’s Planned Unit Development zoning district, downtown mixed-use overlay district, and Complete Streets Policy, along with leading major redevelopment projects.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Hofstra University and is certified with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
