Earlier this year, members of VHB’s transportation safety team published a research article “Identification of Risk Factors for Severe Younger and Older Driver Crashes in Massachusetts” in the Transportation Research Record’s Journal of the Transportation Research Board. Jeff Gooch, Md Shakir Mahmud, and Frank Gross contributed to the article, highlighting systemic safety analysis as a comprehensive and proactive approach to identifying and addressing high-risk roadway features and crash types that contribute to severe crashes. Co-authored with Bonnie Polin, State Safety Engineer with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the article was subsequently selected for inclusion in Sage Perspectives Blog, a research-focused blog dedicated to sharing social science and other research that may benefit the academic community.
