VHB recently was honored with the 2024 Florida Engineering Society (FES) and American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Florida Professional Development Award for our contributions within the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry at the organizations’ annual conference in Miami. VHB’s Orlando and Gulf Coast offices were recognized for an array of professional development opportunities including the firm’s groundbreaking internal model-based design (MBD) program, which is setting new benchmarks for the integration of technology and engineering in AEC companies.

The FES & ACEC-FL Engineering Excellence Awards program recognizes outstanding contributions to the consulting engineering profession through comprehensive evaluation of projects by a panel of experts in related fields. VHB’s MBD program was recognized for its innovative approach to project conceptualization, development, and execution, blending advanced technology with practical engineering experience. The initiative has not only increased project efficiency and accuracy for clients but has also created a dynamic learning platform for engineers and technologists, reinforcing VHB's commitment to professional growth.

“This FES/ACEC Florida Award reflects VHB’s unwavering commitment to innovation and professional development for engineers and designers at all stages of their careers,” said Kathleen Keen, VHB Gulf Coast Managing Director. “Our MBD program especially embodies our mission to advance industry standards while empowering our employees with the latest tools and knowledge. We believe investing in our team’s growth is key to delivering exceptional results for our Florida clients and communities.”
