Kendra Taylor Joins VHB as Senior Landscape Architect

Kendra Taylor, PLA, has joined VHB as a Senior Landscape Architect for the RVA | Hampton Roads region, where she will lead a team of designers in the development of beautiful and functional site designs from concept to construction. In this new role, Kendra will help clients elevate an array of private and public landscape architectural projects, including retail, single- and muti-family residential, corporate campuses, mixed-use developments, academic buildings, streetscapes, parks, and public spaces. 

Kendra joins VHB with a distinguished career and vast academic excellence spanning three decades, including leading roles at prestigious firms including HG Design Studio, Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Deborah Nevins & Associates, Peter Walker & Partners, and Hargreaves Associates. Most recently, Kendra was the principal of her own firm, Kendra Taylor Landscape Architecture in Richmond, where she focused on high-end residential projects and small-scale institutional work across Virginia, Washington, DC, New York, Pennsylvania, and California. 

Throughout her career, Kendra has contributed to a diverse range of projects, including the Science Museum of Virginia and Queally Admissions Center at University of Richmond. Her international portfolio includes multiple mixed-use developments in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and a resort master plan in Bozbuk, Turkey. She has also played a key role in large-scale institutional and corporate campus projects, such as the Mission Bay Campus at the University of California, San Francisco and Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, CA.

Kendra is a registered landscape architect in Virginia and New York. She has authored articles for numerous art and design publications, including Virginia Living Magazine and Journal of Architectural Education, and taught landscape architecture courses at UVA and the University of Richmond. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts with Distinction and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Virginia, in addition to a Master of Arts in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University.
