VHB took home seven awards at the Long Island Business News (LIBN) Real Estate, Architecture, and Engineering Awards held earlier this week. The annual awards ceremony honors those who help build Long Island’s future, recognizing some of the most dynamic and successful industry professionals, companies, and projects in the commercial real estate community.
"VHB was honored to be recognized with these seven awards, which reflect the exceptional contributions and outstanding project execution of our talented team," said Lou Bekofsky, Managing Director of VHB's Hauppauge office. "VHB is deeply committed to delivering innovative engineering services to our clients, and advancing significant and vital projects that enhance our communities."
The 2024 LIBN Real Estate, Architecture, and Engineering Awards featured 18 firm- and individual-related categories and 22 project categories. Kevin Walsh, Chief Engineer of Land Engineering, was honored with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, which is a testament to his four decades providing exemplary service in the industry.
Project award highlights include the Suffolk County Community College STEM Building, which received the Top Education Project (Suffolk). This project represents the dynamic, collaborative partnership between VHB, AECOM, VRD Contracting, and the Suffolk County Department of Public Works and Health Department to bring this advanced facility to the students and faculty of this SUNY campus. VHB’s work on the new, eight-story, 269,000-square-foot Petrocelli Advanced Surgical Pavilion at North Shore University Hospital was honored with the Top Healthcare Project. VHB has supported Northwell Health’s capital planning and facilities development initiatives for more than 20 years—this award is a testament to VHB’s commitment to the continued success and growth of this facility hospital in Manhasset, NY.
