Wood Partners has officially cut the ribbon on its newest high-end residential community Alta on the Row. The development features 370 one-, two-, and three-bedroom luxury apartments on the doorstep of Worcester’s “Restaurant Row”, with easy access to local eateries and shopping. It is also conveniently close to the City’s historic Union Station, offering multimodal transportation options for residents commuting into Boston.
Alta on the Row was developed through close coordination with the local community. “Working with the City of Worcester on this project has been a truly collaborative process from the start, which makes us all the more excited to welcome new residents to the community,” remarked Jim Lambert, Managing Director, Wood Partners.
Originally slated to be a much smaller project, the City of Worcester proactively worked with Wood Partners to expand the initial size of the development to help address housing shortages and promote economic development. The City’s initiative in redeveloping the former Mount Carmel church site helped expedite permitting to keep the project moving forward.
This is the second residential community on which VHB has worked with Wood Partners in Massachusetts—a continued partnership that has delivered meaningful projects that promote connectivity and community. VHB’s team provided full site design and permitting for the high-profile residential development, which includes a landscaped courtyard with a swimming pool and 549 parking spaces. The apartments feature luxury finishes and the amenities include a rooftop lounge, resort-style swimming pool, grilling stations, and a state-of-the-art fitness area. The residential community is also pet-friendly, offering an on-site pet spa and dog park with covered dog-wash stations.
