Boynton Beach Marina

Boynton Beach, FL

The historic Boynton Harbor Marina is the last working waterfront on the Intracoastal Waterway in Boynton Beach, Florida. With increased conversion of waterfront property and marinas to high rise condo buildings and exclusive communities, the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (BBCRA) asked VHB for support in helping to preserve its marina. VHB provided master planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, and graphic design services for the 1,650-acre redevelopment. New facilities have elevated the entire marina area, creating a public event destination on the waterfront. Redevelopment has also included the revitalization of the Downtown District, including landscape architecture for 35 acres of urban parks and plazas; an active pedestrian waterfront recreational area; a commercial marina; new high density commercial development blocks; numerous restaurants and shopping areas; and 2,500 new residential units.
