Boynton Yards is transforming an underutilized industrial site into a vibrant life science and innovation community. Located within one mile of Cambridge's Kendall Square, this 1.8-million-square-foot mixed-use development will offer Class A labs, office space, apartments, a community center, and more than two acres of public green space. VHB collaborated with owners, architects, and teaming partners to advance the development program. We led the permitting process, as well as the streetscape, utility infrastructure, and roadway design to improve access for employees, residents, and guests. Connected to Boston by the new MBTA Green Line Rail Extension (GLX), this transit-oriented development will provide significant economic and community benefits to the City of Somerville in the form of jobs, tax revenue, and open space.
