A $700 million investment, Matrix Global Logistics Park is a state-of-the art industrial park in a regional distribution hub, servicing the needs of tenants who are experiencing exponential growth in the New York area. Within 20 miles of Manhattan, the Park benefits from its proximity to Global Container Terminal (GCT) New York and the area’s major roadways. To date Matrix has developed build-to-suit facilities for Amazon and IKEA, enabling these retail giants to reach consumers with greater agility and speed. VHB addressed the traffic issues associated with development of such a large industrial park and assessed the effects of converting a 1.1-mile stretch of one-way roadway to a two-way operation, including a capacity analysis and a detailed plan for modifications to traffic controls. The conversion allows trucks accessing the site to circumvent residential neighborhoods and have direct highway access.
