VHB provided design services for the Truman Linear Park Trail in Chatham County, Georgia. The project consists of a multi-use trail constructed by Chatham County and maintained by the City of Savannah. The trail connects to Lake Mayer Park, Chatham County Aquatic Center, Jennifer Ross Soccer Complex, Ambuc Park, Bacon Park, Guy Minick Youth Sports Complex, and Scarborough Sports Complex and Jenkins High School, and it includes two 80-foot pedestrian bridges over Casey Canal. The design also includes accommodations such as elevated boardwalks, lighting, and cameras and call boxes to address safety concerns. The Truman Linear Park Trail is part of an important regional bicycle and pedestrian network that promotes and connects healthy, safe, sustainable communities.
