Greater Orlando Aviation Authority Sustainability, LEED & Environmental Support

Responding to growth in aviation demand from Central Florida visitors and residents, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) planned for airport expansion and development around the Orlando International Airport and Orlando Executive Airport. VHB provided on-call sustainability and LEED consulting services to GOAA. The VHB team’s national airport sustainability planning experience and large portfolio in airport planning made certain we met GOAA’s goals. Our team conducted Green Cleaning Training with GOAA’s Maintenance Department; reviewed GOAA buildings for compliance with LEED; prepared GOAA for further LEED certifications; and promoted a culture of sustainability through internal and external communications, including support of a highly successful Earth Day, American Recycles Day, Speaker Series, and awareness programs. VHB also conducted airport waste audits, revised sustainability policies and guidelines, and developed comprehensive performance metrics and targets.
