Transportation planning for healthcare systems is at the core of VHB’s institutional service offerings and has expanded to include the growing need to accommodate electric vehicles (EVs) and associated charging infrastructure. Montefiore Medical Center (Montefiore), a 726-bed hospital located in the Bronx, NY, is part of the non-profit Montefiore Health System, and intends to embark on a program to implement EV chargers throughout the parking facilities of its property. VHB is assisting Montefiore with the transportation planning associated with the development and implementation of this program, which will establish the number and level of EV chargers required, the preferred phasing for implementation, and the proposed location for the chargers, as well as the eventual support for the procurement of charging equipment.
