For years, community leaders in Perth Amboy sought to transform a former scrap metal facility located along the Raritan River into a community recreational waterfront park. The transformation will connect the park to the shoreline, recreation areas, the local neighborhood, and Perth Amboy’s urban center.
Under the Licensed Site Remediation Professional Program, VHB is providing oversight and monitoring of remedial investigation and remedial action by the City of Perth Amboy. Additionally, VHB coordinated with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and New Jersey Economic Development Authority under the Hazardous Discharge Site Remediation Fund program and has managed more than $3.9 million in grants from the program.
